Top Five Characters I wanna Hang Out With

Sorry, I’m a little late on my post this week for Larissa and Friends Bookish Life Top Five Sundays. After a month of promoting Masked Hearts, I needed to get more mundane things organized like getting my car fixed and registered. I’m super pleased with the reviews it’s getting and even got an awesome email from a reader saying she couldn’t put the book down.

Apparently I can’t stop promoting 🙂

Anyway, on with Top Five Sundays! This week it’s the top five characters you want to hang out with!

Romance Costumes

Halloween Costumes are of course a part of my novel Masked Hearts, but I don’t want to give that part away so I won’t be posting an excerpt 🙂

Halloween is my lover’s favorite holiday, so yes, I took advantage of him this year. I tend to the prettier costumes, but this year he suggested I go as medusa, and it was hard to argue with the awesome headpiece he made:OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERACasting a creepy shadow, Medusa hunts for her pray.

Remember to look away from your lover unless you want to turn him to stone.

Because it’s made from wrapping ribbon it’s really light.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Be sure to have a blacklight at your party.

Halloween Spider Web and Chocolate Winners!

MaskedHearts

In my new release, Masked Hearts, Mark creates a gothic display around his expansive home. Part of the decoration is a giant spider web that brings about a turning point in the relationship.

Her tires crunched the rocks into the dirt as she drove up the mountain road. A light flashed on the hill above her, and she caught a glimpse of a ghost blowing on one of his balconies. As she came around the final curve, she slowed her car and gawked until she pulled into the driveway.

Shutters with missing slats hung loose on nails where she didn’t remember there being any shutters to begin with. Enormous stuffed crows perched on the roof and the chimney. A few looked like they were flying down, and she couldn’t see any wires holding them up. The two balconies lit up alternately, showing a ghost and a skeleton. Gargoyles guarded each balcony. An enormous spiderweb hung between the patio and the middle balcony, lit by a black light. In the center of the web was a stuffed spider hanging down. Amongst the tangles of the web were cocoons with arms and legs sticking out as if the spider had caught some stray trick-or-treaters.

The spider web in the story was inspired by the one my lover puts up every year. This year I helped too, since I wanted to feature it on the blog 🙂

Holiday Cafe Bonus Giveaway: Hand Crafted Halloween Chocolate!

MaskedHearts

In Masked Hearts Sienna can’t bring herself to accept any gifts from sexy single dad Mark…even after breath taking sex. But Mark won’t let her leave without them:

Sienna’s whole body shook as she tried to get her sandals back on. What the fuck was she doing with this guy? She’d tied herself up for him but she wouldn’t speak to him. Everything about him was over-the-top wonderful, and she still couldn’t open her heart the tiniest crack. She’d really let Glen fuck her up.

When she finally managed to get her shoes on, she dug into her purse for her keys. Her hand grabbed a box instead. She pulled it out and found the gift Mark had left for her on the table. She fell to her knees and stared at it in her hands. After a few moments, she took the top off. Four handcrafted chocolates stared back at her. They each had a unique decoration: a bat, a pumpkin, a witch’s hat and a spiderweb.

They smelled like the richest chocolate she’d ever tasted, with a hint of caramel or maybe toffee. She put the lid back on. She shouldn’t keep it. The petals he’d shredded from the bouquet he’d given her last night surrounded her. She clutched the box as if she feared the chocolates would be somehow torn apart if she left them. That was a silly thought, but leaving the box would probably anger him. She slipped it into her purse, grabbed her keys and walked out the door.

The chocolates in Masked Hearts were inspired by the Moonstruck Chocolate Halloween line. I was lucky enough to find their spider and pumpkin truffles in a local grocery store yesterday.

Single Nights: Top Five Favorite Book Covers

Anouncement just for my blog readers: I’m guest blogging at the ARe Cafe tomorrow! Masked Hearts is being discounted to $1 Oct.20-21, but I’ve already put the discount in! So you can get it on sale a little early! On with the blog…

One of the best ways to spend a night alone is reading, which makes Larissa’s Top Five Sundays’ topic of Fave Book Covers perfect for tonight’s blog.

I’m going way old school for my first pick:

Evelyn Anthony was one of the first romance authors my mom let me read. I like this cover because the couple is in an embrace and the blurb says it all.

Another old book, but I love this new cover.

When my novella was published with Jupiter Gardens, I had to go through their covers and find what I liked about them for my own. Blown Away was one of my favorite covers, even if the style wasn’t suitable for my own story.

I love the fairytale dress.

Who doesn’t love a violet gown? Hopefully I’ll have a heroine wear a purple gown 🙂

Welcome to the redesigned Evelyn Aster site. More changes are on the way, including a mature rating so I can post steamier content. In the meantime, please enjoy my erotic romance Masked Hearts which you can puchase at the below sites:
