Practicing my barista skills today. I haven’t decided on a drink for the next Holiday Cafe book, but I have a few ideas. Also, my urban fantasy series coming out in May, Through the Magic, will take place at a coffee house in Old Town Albuquerque. That story will be all about the special roasts, but I might want a few fancy drinks for it too.
Motorcycle 3
This is the last choice for the motorcycle portion of the cover for Shifting into Love. At least I think 🙂 Opinions?

The Beautician and the Billionaire 6: Scene 3

Charisse dozed, hitting the snooze on her phone every now and then. Her brain hadn’t reminded her she was in Conor’s penthouse yet. But when she smelled coffee and heard Raul say, “Good morning Charisse,” she bolted up. Continue reading
Motorcycle Hero
I mentioned last night that I’m working on transforming Shifting Into Love from a short story to a novella. I’ve been checking out different photos for the cover and wanted your opinion. Here’s tonight’s offering:

Yay? Nay?
I wish he had a leather jacket on or no jacket instead of a hoody.
Also, Shifting into Love is a slip stream story, which means it has fantastical elements with no explanations. Readers have been telling me they’d like to know why Samantha’s connected to the bar. Why her sister isn’t connected. Where the heck did the bar come from anyway? I’d love to hear from more readers about the backstory issue. Do you want more details about the bar, or do you like not knowing?
Thanks for the help! Please comment below!
The Beautician and the Billionaire 6: Scene 2

Charisse lay curled up in the dark. The high thread count cotton sheets and pillow top mattress gave her no comfort. At least she had pajamas on. She was sure they were what Raul had chosen and not something Conor picked out. They were plain knit shorts and a cami. By tomorrow night she’d probably be sleeping in a sheer teddy…if she was lucky. For all she knew he’d really go the whole slave route, and she’d be sleeping in cuffs and a collar. Maybe chained to the bed. Continue reading

I’m working on turning Shifting into Love into a novella. It’s time to think about covers. This is the first picture to catch my eye. What do you think? I’d love comments.

The Beautician and the Billionaire 6: Scene 1c

Charisse cringed as Raul made no attempt to hide his shock. He’d been leaning against the car but stood up as soon as he saw them, gaping openly at Charisse. She wanted to turn and run back into the building, but Conor placed his hand in the middle of her back and nudged her forward. Continue reading
The Beautician and the Billionaire 6: Scene 1b

Charisse sat on the couch with her arms crossed over her body, watching Conor put on an exquisite suit and tie. Though all of his suits were expensive, she could tell this one had a higher thread count than his usual. Plus, the shirt had French cuffs. He opened a desk drawer and pulled out gold cufflinks with what looked like diamonds on the end. Continue reading
The Beautician and the Billionaire Episode 6: The Banquet
Welcome to Episode 6: The Banquet! There are two steamy sex scenes which will be cut from the blog. If you’d like to read the uncut version, please buy it at Amazon!
Conor and Charisse just sealed the deal and already the new contract isn’t turning out how Charisse imagined at all. Please enjoy!

Charisse was lulled into a sense of safety and contentment as Conor held her after the phone call from Josh. It was like they’d returned to their relationship before she’d walked out of his apartment to go back to work, before she’d agreed to the date with the Captain. But it only lasted a few minutes. Cafe con Leche
In The Beautician and the Billionaire Episode 6: The Banquet Raul serves Charisse Puerto Rican cafe con leche. I love this drink, but it’s a hard recipe to find. I finally found one over at the blog Spicelines.
I honestly thought it had sweetened condensed milk in it, but actually it’s just milk and half and half! The trick is warming them together slowly, which brings out a natural sweetness. Continue reading
