We finished the first Episode when Conor told Roy he’d take over Roy’s silent partnership in the beauty salon Ma Charisse because of the loss of three ships. Roy has called an emergency meeting with Charisse and Marie to discuss it.
Enjoy!
Ma Charisse was abuzz the day after Marie’s date with Conor. It seemed as though there was a social media blitz with pictures of the two of them together on the couch at the cocktail party. As much as it was taboo to use cellphones for pictures at those events, a few people always seemed to get away with it. One of Charisse’s lady luvs had been kind enough to show Charisse a picture of Marie pouring a shot down Conor’s throat. She’d wanted to stab the screen with her scissors, but had just as quickly been confused by the emotion. It didn’t matter if Conor had let Marie do that. She wasn’t interested in him. Welcome back! The date has gone downhill after the white rose, but clearly Conor wishes Charisse was there. What will Marie do?
This was all Charisse’s fault. Those hands, those incredible hands, had soothed away every barrier he put up to push through the day untouched by emotion. Charisse wasn’t supposed to have the magic touch Elise had had. No one should ever match Elise.
He should’ve just skipped the haircut and left after the shampoo. But he was in the habit of always paying back pain people caused him. Hello lovely readers! If you missed the first part, please go back to Monday’s post and begin! If you’re all caught up, please enjoy meeting Charisse:
A coffee aroma mingled seductively with the vanilla scents of the shampoos and conditioners used in Ma Charisse. Massaging shampoo into the scalp of a customer, Charisse drew in a quiet breath and added, “I know, right?”
“I mean how could she possibly think taking my husband’s Ferrari for a joyride like she was in freaking Ferris Bueller’s Day Off would be a good idea?” said Tanya, flailing her crimson nails in the air like little flashes of anger.

“I can’t believe she would even try something like that. Last year she was such a good student.”
“Right? Never have children. They’ll only make you crazy.”
