The Beautician and the Billionaire 7: Scene 8

Yesterday Conor went to Charisse’s room in the middle of the night. I won’t be posting the scene because of the sexy sex. You can read it at:

All Romance  in Kindle, Nook, and pdf formats.
iTunes
Drive Through Fiction in Kindle, Nook, and pdf formats.
Smashwords in Kindle, Nook and pdf formats.
Barnes and Noble

I will start at the end of the chapter you missed. Enjoy!

Charisse woke up sore and frustrated. When she slipped the sheet aside, she saw small bruises where Conor’s fingers had dug into her thighs. Worth it, except that he wasn’t with her.

She sat up and glanced around the room, hoping for a sign of him. On the nightstand were two envelopes addressed to her: one in Raul’s handwriting and one in Conor’s. She grabbed the one from Conor first.

Dear Charisse,

I’ve wanted to bring you here since I first saw you, but it was a mistake. I have too much past here. I need to sort out my thoughts. The house and cars are yours while I’m gone. Raul will get you whatever you need. On Monday a therapist will arrive to talk to you as well as a personal trainer. You said you took yoga, and I didn’t want you to miss too many classes. Becca’s party is Saturday. I’m having Raul give you an invitation. I need you there with me. And then Puerto Rico.

Conor stared into the darkness. Charisse had opened his door only to close it again and leave a couple hours earlier. He couldn’t blame her. She wasn’t a mind reader. He’d wanted to invite her in, but he hadn’t even been able to look at her. It wasn’t because of his headache—that was subsiding. He couldn’t bear to see fear in her eyes. He wasn’t a murderer, and he’d never hit her like that ass-hat Josh. But her expression at the banquet had said she thought otherwise. Continue reading

Conor’s Hamptons dining room fascinated Charisse. Without even thinking about it, she sat with a straight back in the white leather dining room chair with gold spindly legs. Above the long mahagony table hung three flower like chandeliers that had to be designed by Chihuly. The vibrantly colored glass glowed softly at the tips, giving off a minimal amount of light. A mural had been painted on the wall she faced. It had flowers in the same clustered style as the chandeliers with vines twisting around to connect the bouquets. She had no idea who the artist was. Fantasy Art 2

I’ve been super focused on The Beautician and the Billionaire finale and remiss posting about the Through the Magic series. Sorry about that!

As mentioned in my first post about Fantasy Art, Kevin Yancey is doing the covers for the trilogy. I wanted something a little different than normal urban fantasy book covers because the stories are a little different than normal urban fantasy stories.

I love working with Kevin because he really listens and implements changes that I ask for. Below is a couple from an unpublished story. He got all the details right from the armor to the hair to the perfect expressions.

If you’ve bought The Beautician and the Billionaire Episode 7: The Mansion, be sure to check out the pages after the story. There’s a glimpse of the cover for the first in the Through the Magic series, Through the Painting.

Charisse ran along a hedge. She could hear the water gurgling on the other side. She’d saved the maze for the end of the day but hadn’t managed to get to the middle, much less out the end. Even in the fog, it hadn’t looked so complicated from her bedroom. But now in the warm afternoon sun, frustration riled her. Continue reading
