Ma Charisse II

Welcome to Friday! Last Satuday I did a post called Ma Charisse, listing three beauty bloggers who I’d hire in my fictional salon Ma Charisse in The Beautician and the Billionaire. I promised a follow-up and here it is!

Over at A Beautiful Whim, Janine covers everything I need to know about keeping our eyes young among many other beauty tips. I especially like all the research she does, and she’s not afraid to post even when one of her favorite products turns out to be harmful.

Willow and Birch Salon has great tutorials and tips. If I lived in Springfield, Illionois I’d give them a try for sure.

So far all the blogs I’ve posted have been ones I’ve been following for several months. But I wanted to give a shout out to one I’ve just discovered because she died her hair with henna! So cool! Hello Lesya!

Henna!

One of my most popular posts is Becoming a Fantasy Heroine: Hair. With the upcoming release of my urban fantasy romance Through the Painting, I thought it’d be fun to do some more in the Becoming a Fantasy Heroine series.

There’s no better way to kick it off than with henna tattoos!

I love the idea of tattoos being magical. Two of my all time favorite fantasy heroines are Xena and Gabriella. There’s a fantastic scene in the series where they’re getting elaborate henna tattoos:

This week, I got together with my girlfriends for a sort of post Valentines Day celebration. I hired an artist and all of us got at least one tattoo. She was amazing! So fast and skilled. Here are some pictures from the party: Continue reading

Becoming a Romance Heroine: Tattoos

When I think tattoos, I think paranormal romance. But henna tattoos are an indulgence every woman can get to have a little fun. It’s usually a tantalizing design and fades away after a couple of weeks.

My girlfriends and I have gone out to get henna tattoos together a couple of times. It’s a great ladies night out with the added bonus of being a turn on to Lover when he sees the tattoo.

They aren’t that expensive and totally worth the evenings of fun!

Here’s a picture of my publicist’s hand at our last girl’s night out:

I love the glitter in it!
