Yay, it’s Saturday! This was a full week. I mentioned on Monday that I had interviewed for a choir director job. This is not me giving up on writing full time; this is me being practical about money realities. I’m happy because I spent the week leading music activities at the church as a volunteer, and I still got Shifting Into Love off to my editor. Did you guys get addicted to half price frappuccinos at Starbucks Happy Hours last week? I know I did.
But an even cheaper way to add zest to your day is to make one yourself! They keep well in thermoses too if you want to make it in the morning and save it for later. On days I’m blue, I like to pour them into fancy glass for an extra pick me up:
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup milk
1 packet Starbucks Via Iced Caramel Coffee
1-1 1/2 cups ice
Place water, milk and Via mix in blender. Blend for a few seconds. Add ice. Put blender on ice crusher mode until smooth. Enjoy!
I live day to day on small indulgences whether it’s a bite sized piece of dove chocolate or my favorite coffee drink. One of my favorite snacks is popcorn because it’s light and healthy if fixed right. Recently I discovered an easy way to give it big taste without adding a ton of calories. And it’s way easier than traditional caramel corn.
Large bowl of popped popcorn
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon Smuckers Salted Caramel Topping
Dash of salt
I use an air popper to pop my corn because it really reduces the calories from traditional oil poppers and even microwaved popcorn. In a small bowl place butter and caramel. Heat in the microwave for thirty seconds. Stir caramel mixture until smooth. Drizzle caramel over popcorn. Sprinkle with dash of salt. Use two forks to toss until popcorn is tan. Enjoy the big flavor in this slight indulgence!
